2025 Prius: New Nightshade Grade and Exterior Color

The 2025 Prius adds the Nightshade grade to the line up with a new exterior color option.
Based off the current XLE grade, the new Prius Nightshade is making its debut in 2025. The Nightshade grade features include: 19-inch black alloy wheels, black exterior badging, black shark fin antenna, black front door handles, and black bumper trim. The new color Karashi (pictured above) is exclusively available on the Nightshade grade with other color options including Midnight Black Metallic and Wind Chill Pearl. With the new Nightshade grade added to the line up, there are now four different Prius grades to chose from. The 2025 Prius pairs the 5th generation Toyota Hybrid System with a M20A-FXS inline four cylinder 2.0L gas engine. The combination of the hybrid system and gas engine allows the Prius to perform at a high efficiency, like the impressive 50+ mpg. This also improves other key performance factors such as the 0-60 acceleration time of 7.2 seconds on the front wheel drive models. The braking system also plays an important role in the fuel efficiency by switching between the regenerative braking force and the hydraulic braking system force.
The Prius is also equipped with an EV feature, allowing the sedan to function purely as an electric vehicle for short distances. This is dependent on the charge level and vehicle speed, the feature is best used in places such as parking lots and garages. In addition to EV mode, the Prius also offers normal, eco, and sport driving modes. The Prius is also available in all wheel drive equipped models.
