Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection is designed to detect vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, or motorcyclists and provide a forward-collision warning sound and visual on the Multi-Information Display. If the driver does not brake, the system is designed to automatically brake the vehicle.

What’s New

-Enhanced intersection support with improved detection range capability, including oncoming vehicles in more than one lane while turning and vehicles approaching from a lateral direction (in certain circumstances)

-Now capable of detecting a motorcyclist in certain circumstances

Intended to be used for highway driving, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is an adaptive cruise control system designed for speeds above 20 mph. This system uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the preceding vehicle.

What’s New

-Update from three to four cruise distance settings

-Enhanced vehicle detection providing a smoother speed transition

 

When white/yellow lane markings or certain road-edge boundary lines are detected at speeds above 30 mph, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist is designed to issue an audio/visual lane departure warning if a lane departure is detected. If the driver doesn’t correct the departure the system is designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance.

What’s New

-Enhanced lane recognition to detect certain three-dimensional objects used to define the lane, like certain guardrails

When Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is enabled and lane markers are detected, Lane Tracing Assist uses the lines on the road and/or proceeding vehicles to provide active driving assistance and keep the vehicle centered within its lane. While the Lane Tracing Assist is activated, the available Emergency Driving Stop System is designed to monitor the drivers inputs, such as steering. If the Emergency Driving Stop System determines the driver is not attentive and does not respond to prompts to resume vehicle control, it can bring the vehicle to a stop in certain conditions.

-Capable of steering the vehicle within its lane to offset vehicle’s driving path to help provide more space between objects being passed in adjacent lanes

Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) on vehicles equipped with a driver monitor camera is designed to confirm the drivers eyes are on the road. If the system determines the driver is not attentive and the driver does not respond to prompts to resume control of the vehicle, it can bring the vehicle to a stop in certain conditions

Using an intelligent front camera, Road Sign Assist is designed to detect speed limit signs, stop signs, do not enter signs, yield signs, and certain warning signs. These sign icons will display on the Multi-Information Display.

What’s New

-Road Sign Assist is now capable of detecting a wider range of road signs such as warning signs like pedestrian crossing

Automatic High Beams are designed to see more clearly in the dark. At speeds above 21 mph, the Auto High Beams are designed to detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, automatically toggling between high and low beams accordingly.

When system operating conditions are met, Proactive Driving Assist uses the vehicles camera and radar to provide gentle braking and steering to support driving tasks. It also maintains distance between your vehicle and the preceding vehicle.

What’s New

-The Proactive Driving Assist feature set includes Obstacle Anticipation Assist, which is designed to detect parked vehicles on the side of the road, or pedestrians and bicyclists on the side/crossing the road

-Proactive Driving Assist also features Deceleration Assist, designed to provide gentle braking reducing vehicle speed for proceeding vehicles, motorcycles, or certain upcoming curves

Steering Assist is designed to detect the lines on the road and assist the driver to stay within the lane

Additional Safety & Convenience Features

Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert

 Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert work together to help prevent collisions with other vehicles. Sensors on the bumper of the vehicle detect vehicles in the blind spot and illuminate the warning indicators on the side mirrors. If the turn signal is turned in despite the visual warning, the warning indicator will flash. In a parking situation, when the vehicle is shifted into reverse the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system automatically activates using the Blind Spot Monitor radars. If an approaching vehicle is on either side of the vehicle, a notification is triggered using the mirror indicators and an audio alert. The multimedia display will also display arrows on the backup camera feed indicating the direction of the approaching vehicle.


Panoramic View Monitor

The available Panoramic View Monitor uses multiple cameras to create and overhead, panoramic view of the vehicles surroundings, helping make parking and low-speed maneuvers easier.


Front & Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking

When the system detects there is a possibility of contact with an object or vehicle, available Front and Rear Parking Assist with Auto Braking is designed to alert the driver and in certain conditions apple the brakes.


Star Safety System

The Star Safety System includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Smart Stop Technology (SST), and Brake Assist.
